"Conversations can be life changing" ~George Sargent~

From a very young age George developed a keen interest in radio whilst listening to his Uncle on Southern Cross Austereo (National Radio), sometimes calling in to have a chat on air. At the age of 9, George made his way to the 2BS Studios after receiving a Youth Arts Award for his musical theatre achievements throughout the Central west. It was after his five and a half minute interview that the General Manager approached young George and asked if he would be interested in providing critiques on local and national musical theatre productions. From this point onwards he would be in and out of the Studios of 109 George Street, Bathurst critiquing musicals. George would ask his parents to record each interview so he could listen back and improve for the next chat on air. After completing a week of Year 10 work experience with Bathurst Broadcasters in 2017, George was offered his first Program called the “Weekend Wireless Program” with George Sargent. Whilst contributing to his radio program by creating and editing vox pops, George carried out the duties of Head Prefect at St Stanislaus College, Bathurst. During his time as Head Prefect he was awarded many distinguished awards, most notable being the Australian Defence Force - Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award, the Senior of the Year Award and 2020 Youth Citizen of the Year Nominee. Musical Theatre remained an integral part of George’s life throughout this busy year and he held numerous lead roles as he continued to entertain on the stage. To top off an already successful year, George was nominated as an ACRA (Australian Commercial Radio Awards) Finalist and took out the Best Newcomer on Air category. Towards the end of 2019, George became host of the “Talk of the Town” program on 2BS (a drive program from 3pm - 6pm). Currently George hosts the Australian Podcast Award nominated podcast “The Convo” conversations that Educate, Inspire and Entertain, Executive produces Grant & Chezzi Denyer’s top charting podcast ‘IT’S ALL TRUE?’, Sings in music duo ‘West Of Town’, Teaches singing lessons and works as a disability support worker in Bathurst. George has a passion to entertain audiences, listeners and general patrons of the public through his love of musical theatre and live performance along with a platform of Commercial Radio. George would love for you to join him in CONVERSATIONS that EDUCATE, INSPIRE & ENTERTAIN.
